George Abrahams
Foundation
The George Abrahams Foundation is a nonprofit public benefit organization promoting environmental protections and government transparency and accountability for the benefit of all. We enforce protections for residents, conserve natural habitats, safeguard animal welfare, and protect the historical and cultural heritage of Los Angeles and Los Angeles County. We advocate for quality of life issues related to planning, zoning, and the built environment.
GAF was created in honor of George Abrahams, who worked relentlessly on these issues. It is our honor and privilege to continue his important work.
Our Work Includes
Carlton Way
The Carlton Serrano Tenants Association (CSTA) joins forces with GAF in calling out the City’s highly unlawful approval of the West Carlton Way luxury development – an approval that green-lights the demolition of 25 rent-stabilized homes, displacement of longtime residents, removal of mature trees (some “protected”), and grants extreme and unwarranted development waivers, including height increases of nearly 175%. And as usual, the City insists these actions have “no impact” on the environment and no impact on the people who live there. All in sweeping violation of the Vermont/Western SNAP and without any environmental review.

GAF Files its First Lawsuit Against the City of Los Angeles - CEQA Thresholds
The Department of City Planning once again violates the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this time, increasing noise and vibration levels with no regard to how this impacts the public, the environment or wildlife.
